Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Whether you enjoy a romantic dinner with your significant other or spend the day with family and close friends, Valentine’s Day is about celebrating and enjoying the love in your life. We asked the Lobels how they make the day special and to share with us their recommendations for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner.
Evan: “I have my wife and three daughters, so I like to do something special for each of them on Valentine’s Day. I always try to surprise my wife with roses. I like to get each of my daughters something personal and special—usually a piece of jewelry or candy. If I were to cook a romantic Valentine’s Day meal I would go with a Panko-crusted pork chop or tenderloin and stewed chunky apples with a dollop of crème fraîche or sour cream on top. Also, low lights and candles are essential to setting a romantic mood.”
David: “Every year for Valentine’s Day I like to do something special for my kids. I get them a nice card, little teddy bears, some chocolates, and those cute character-themed candies. I set the goodies out on the couch Valentine’s Day morning so they’re waiting for the kids when they come down to go to school. It’s just something to brighten their day. For a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner I would prepare a Porterhouse for two. I love this cut because it has portions of both the strip and the filet. It’s also flavorful, tender, and perfect for sharing.”
Stanley – “Making Valentine’s Day special is all about the small romantic gestures. Make sure you pick up some flowers and light candles for dinner. Prepare a delicious Lobel’s Sweetheart Steak and enjoy the company of your loved ones. Sometimes the best Valentine’s Days are simple!”
Mark – “I’m all about the traditional Valentine’s Day. I like to get my wife red roses, the heart-shaped box of chocolates—all that good stuff. For a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner I would prepare a chateaubriand roast for two. I would serve it with some nice mashed potatoes and green beans with sliced almonds or maybe some broccoli. And you can’t forget a great glass of wine!”
