New York, NY (April 24, 2015) – Long known as a purveyor of the finest meats, Lobel’s is expanding its food product offerings with the introduction of a new line of four all-natural, preservative-free seasonings and sauces for meats. The new products include Lobel’s BBQ Sauce, Lobel’s Dry Rub, Lobel’s Steak Sauce and Lobel’s New York Marinade and are being introduced as Lobel’s celebrates its 175th anniversary this year.
Made from Lobel family recipes, the new seasonings and sauces complement a variety of meats and draw on five generations of Lobel family expertise with fine meats. They are free of preservatives, artificial flavors, sweeteners and colors, and they contain no GMOs.
"These are recipes we’ve developed over many years for preparing and serving with fine meats. They are uniquely Lobel’s," noted Stanley Lobel, co-owner of Lobel’s and a co-author of nine books on meat and cooking. "They were made to be versatile with a wide variety of meats, and we focused on true flavors without all the preservatives and extra ingredients. It was very important to us, as experts in fine meat, to create seasonings and sauces that did not take away from the flavor of the meat but that complemented it."
Lobel’s BBQ Sauce ($8.95) is a savory, not-too-sweet, tomato-based barbecue sauce for grilled, smoked and oven-roasted meats. Packaged in a classic 19.5-ounce bottle, Lobel’s BBQ Sauce is ideal for chicken, spare ribs, brisket and other meats, and it can be used as a final glaze or as a dipping sauce.
A long-time favorite recipe, Lobel’s Dry Rub ($8.95) is an all-purpose preparation for any meat destined for the grill, smoker or oven. This signature dry rub, packaged in a 5.5-ounce spice shaker, blends herbs and spices with a touch of coffee grounds for robust flavor and a hint of spicy heat. It’s the same dry rub used on the famed Lobel’s USDA Prime Steak Sandwiches sold at Yankee Stadium.
Lobel’s Steak Sauce ($8.95) was specifically created with the highest quality dry-aged steaks in mind. A savory condiment in a 15-ounce bottle, the steak sauce was formulated to accentuate, not overpower, the richness and flavor of a fine steak. Stanley Lobel also recommends it as a topping for hamburgers.
Lobel’s New York Marinade ($8.95) is a new sweet and savory recipe the Lobels developed to bring out the best in a variety of meats, poultry, seafood or vegetables destined for grilling or roasting. Sold in a 22-ounce jar, the marinade can be used to tenderize and prepare meats for cooking or as an added dimension of flavor and crispiness at the finish.
The new seasonings and sauces from Lobel’s are sold through the website at www.lobels.com and at the family’s Manhattan butcher shop, Lobel’s Prime Meats at 1096 Madison Avenue.
The Lobels have been butchers for five generations—the family business is celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2015—and their shop in New York has been an institution on the Upper East Side for more than 60 years. Co-owned by Stanley Lobel and his sons Mark Lobel and David Lobel and his nephew Evan Lobel, Lobel’s specializes in the finest meats and other food products. The Lobels are authors of nine books on meat and grilling, including Lobel’s Meat Bible (Chronicle Books, 2009), and are some of the foremost authorities on fine meat and butchering in the U.S.
Lobel’s is known as one of the leading purveyors of USDA Prime grade, dry-aged beef as well as the finest all-natural veal and lamb, fresh poultry, Berkshire pork, and specialty products. NEW YORK, NY (July 2, 2012) – Gourmet meat purveyor Lobel’s has just introduced Lobel’s BBQ Pit, a line of authentic Southern barbecued meats with the finest cuts of pork and beef. The new Lobel’s BBQ Pit items include pork spare ribs, beef brisket, port butt, and pulled pork, all fully cooked slowly over low heat. Lobel’s BBQ Pit is available exclusively online through the Lobel’s website, www.lobels.com.
"This is authentic barbecue. We don’t take any short cuts," noted Stanley Lobel. "Every nuance of flavor, tenderness, and juiciness comes from the finest meats and the time-proven method of long hours of low and slow cooking with wood, flame, and smoke. Just take a look at the smoke ring on the meats—the undeniable testament to barbecue authenticity."
Lobel’s BBQ St. Louis-Style Seasoned Pork Spare Ribs (1.75 lb. rack, $37.98) are the definition of a St. Louis rib: meaty, marbled, and tender pork spare ribs that are trimmed of the portion of breast bone and squared off for uniformity. Lobel’s St. Louis ribs are coated with a proprietary dry rub blend before spending hours in the smoker being cooked to juicy perfection. The ample meat lightly clings to the bone for an easy bite and an explosion of flavor.
Lobel’s BBQ Whole Seasoned Beef Brisket (6 lbs., $199.98) is untrimmed with a top cap of fat, a layer of meat called the point, another layer of fat, and a large piece of meat called the flat, known to butchers as the "packer’s cut." The brisket is smoked for long, slow hours, which renders the fat and bastes both layers of meat as it cooks, resulting in the tenderest, juiciest, and most flavorful brisket imaginable. A peppery dry rub takes well to the base of mesquite smoke, accented with the perfume of apple wood for light top notes of flavor.
The BBQ Whole Seasoned Pork Butt (4 lbs., $79.98) is well marbled for absolute tenderness and flavored with the smoke of hickory wood and a simple dry rub. The pork butts are untrimmed and contain bone and fat that is natural in proportion to the meat, allowing them to be basted from the inside by the fat and lightly sweetened by the bone.
Made from the same seasoned pork butts, Lobel’s BBQ Seasoned Pulled Pork with Sauce (2 lbs., $44.98) is a classic preparation, with the meat hand-pulled from the bone, shredded, and blended with Lobel’s own Barbecue Sauce.
Lobel’s is known as one of the leading purveyors of USDA Prime grade, dry-aged beef as well as the finest all-natural veal and lamb, fresh poultry, Berkshire pork, and specialty products. All Lobel’s meats are shipped by overnight delivery. Additional information can be obtained by visiting the website at www.lobels.com or calling the toll-free number at 1-877-783-4512 Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET) and Saturday – Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ET).

NEW YORK, NY (October 25, 2011) – Gourmet meat purveyor Lobel’s has expanded its line of specialty foods with the introduction this fall of three new varieties of bacon, all available nationally through the website at www.lobels.com. The new selections include Fruitwood Smoked Bacon, Peppered Bacon and Cottage Bacon, which brings their line of bacon offerings to five.
Lobel’s Fruitwood Smoked Bacon ($12.98 per 12-ounce package) is uncured and comes from hand-trimmed pork bellies that are double smoked with apple and cherry woods to impart a delicately sweet, smoky flavor. Thick-sliced and shingle-packed, the farmhouse-style Fruitwood Smoked Bacon is lower in sodium than many cured bacons yet still boasts abundant flavor.
Lobel’s Peppered Bacon ($12.98 per 16-ounce package) is maple cured, rolled in cracked black Tellicherry pepper and smoked with apple wood. A thick-sliced bacon, it offers a classic contrast in flavors between a peppery bite and sweet smokiness.
Similar to Canadian bacon, Lobel’s Cottage Bacon ($11.98 per 12-ounce package) comes from the center of a marble-laced pork butt, which is then cured and smoked for an intense flavor and a unique texture among bacons. The round, thick-sliced Cottage Bacon has less fat than traditional strip bacon and richer flavor than Canadian bacon.
Lobel’s new bacons come from pigs raised in the certified humane environments of small, family farms in eastern Canada. The new bacons from Lobel’s are all-natural and free of antibiotics, preservatives and nitrites.
In addition to the new bacon offerings, Lobel’s also offers Double Hickory Smoked Slab Bacon and Center-Cut Canadian Bacon. Lobel’s is known as one of the leading purveyors of USDA Prime grade, dry-aged beef as well as the finest all-natural veal and lamb, fresh poultry, Berkshire pork and specialty products. All Lobel’s meats are shipped by overnight delivery, and Lobel’s guarantees all shipments. Lobel’s New York-Style Pastrami is meatier and more marbled than First-Cut Pastrami and is the classic selection for the juiciest, most tender pastrami.
New York-Style Pastrami (4-6 lbs.) $58.98 each
First-Cut Brisket Pastrami (6-8 lbs.) $98.98 each
Lobel’s corned beef comes from the finest USDA Prime beef brisket. As with Lobel’s pastrami, it is hand-trimmed and cured in a proprietary brine for three to five days, although the corned beef does not go through the smoking process. Lobel’s offers whole corned beef briskets for feeding a crowd or first-cut or "butcher’s call" half first-cut for family-sized meals.
USDA Prime Corned Beef Brisket (Uncooked) – Whole (12-14 lbs) $129.98
USDA Prime Corned Beef Brisket (Uncooked) – First-Cut (6-8 lbs) $89.98

NEW YORK, NY (April 14, 2009) — The New York Yankees and gourmet meat purveyor Lobel's, two New York institutions, have teamed up to bring some of America's finest meat to Yankee Stadium. With the start of the 2009 baseball season, visitors will be able to purchase Lobel's USDA prime beef throughout the stadium.
In addition to the Internet, at lobels.com, Yankee Stadium is the only retail location, other than Lobel's Prime Meats on Madison Avenue, where the public can buy meats from the famed New York butcher.
To showcase the art of fine butchering, Lobel's will have a demonstration shop on the field-level concourse near Section 133—a replica of the venerable Lobel's Prime Meats on Madison Avenue. Fans will be able to watch Lobel's butchers trimming and preparing different cuts of beef, which will be used at dining venues throughout the Stadium. The butcher shop features a display of Lobel's signature dry-aging process.
In addition, a nearby portable carving station will offer fresh Lobel's steak sandwiches for purchase.
Fans in the Luxury Suites and in select restaurants within the Stadium will be able to order menu items prepared with meats from Lobel's. Moreover, during the game all Luxury Suite guests will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of hand-cut meats from Lobel's to take home after the game.
Finally, the Home Plate Store (the gift shop in the Great Hall) will stock pre-selected packages of frozen meats from Lobel's in refrigerated cases.
"The Yankees are America's top sports franchise and meats from Lobel's are the best of the best. This is a very complementary relationship," noted Mark Lobel, co-owner and fifth generation butcher. "We're looking forward to working with the New York Yankees to offer America's finest meats at America's finest stadium."
