Excellent! Several times I have ordered this roast for holiday dinners. I am always glad I did. It may be a bit more expensive but even when a slightly overcooked one year it was still tender and tasty. Much better than others I have ordered on-line. Never a problem with holiday shipping either.

Very Beefy Christmas We celebrated Christmas dinner with this fine cut of meat. Dry brined it for two days and applied the rub day of. Roasted it on the grill using indirect method (225 degrees) and finished using direct method (500 degrees) for a nice crust. End result - big bold beefy and beautiful flavor!!!

A Family Tradition I have ordered this roast for years to serve on Christmas day. It\s always a hit even with my father who doesn\t \care for\ prime rib - never a bit left on his plate. As for the price all I can say is you get what you pay for!

Christmas Standing Awesomeness First time buying from Lobel’s. Slightly hesitant as I have a very good old school local butcher and I like to see the cut before hand. We typically we do a beef tenderloin for our Christmas Eve dinner but this year we did a 7lb Standing Rib Roast (3 ribs) 5 adults and one kid. Ultimately it came down to a timing issue so I had it shipped to me. Initial impressions were good when I received the package. Came overnight in an insulated cooler and was vacuum packed. Marbling looked great and it was trimmed perfectly my ONLY complaint was it was not cut square on both ends. I know Lobel’s sells by the lbs right on the number so I assume this is the reason but it did make for an uneven roast. \nRoasted it using the close door method. Simply let the meat come to room temp. Covered the Roast in a butter garlic kosher salt pepper and herb de Provence. Roasted at 500 degrees for 35 mins (5 mins per lbs) turn the oven off and let sit for 2 hours WITHOUT opening the oven. Once it’s done there’s no need to let rest. Carve and enjoy. It was a home run!! I think everyone was a bit disappointed when I told them we were doing this over the tenderloin but I think this was overall better and might be the go to for our Christmas Eve dinner going forward. Everyone LOVED it!!! Thanks You Lobel’s for a great product. I think I’ll be mixing you in along with my local butcher.
